A Case of Vagal Neurilemmoma in Neck

Abstract

|
Schwannomas or Neurilemmomas of the cervical portion of the vagus nerve are very rare. This Schwannoma is benign tumor arising from the cells of Schwann of the Neurilemma sheath covering the nerve and is generally regarded as an ectodermal neoplasm. There are usually no characteristic singns and symptoms, and the treatment is total excision.
We have recently experienced and is reporting a case of vagal neurilemmoma in right side of the neck, proved by clinically and histologically The patient was 33 year old Dusewife and had a lemon sized painless mass on right neck. The tumor was extirpated successfully and postoperative course was also uneventful.
